Vimal Dwivedi
Lecturer (~Assistant Professor) in Data Analytics @ Ulster University
About Me
Vimal Dwivedi earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia, in May 2022, with a project sponsored by the Qtum Foundation, Singapore. During his doctoral research, he developed a smart contract language (See his Ph.D. thesis) aimed at facilitating the development of error-free blockchain applications. Currently, he holds a position as a Lecturer in Data Analytics at Ulster University. Before this role, he was lecturer in Computer Science at Teesside University, England and prior to this role, he contributed as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. There, he worked on a project titled "Digital Twin and Blockchain for Business Decision Modeling" in ARC research group with the collaboration with PwC Belfast, Northern Ireland. Prior to his tenure at QUB, he served as a Junior Lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia. Vimal also holds the role of Guest Editor for the journal Mathematics and Computer Science. His research is primarily focused on Distributed Ledger Technologies, emphasizing the scalability of blockchains and the application of digital twins to streamline processes in supply chain management and healthcare.
Vimal received his MTech and BTech degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, India, respectively. Before starting his Ph.D., He worked as an Assistant Professor at A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University for 2 years and taught subjects including Automata, Data Structure, Graph Theory, Machine Learning, and Web Technologies.
